Slow's BBQ

WHAT WE ORDERED:
  • Fried catfish
  • Split pea and okra fritters
  • You Choose Combo: half a slab of St. Louis Ribs and Sliced Brisket
  • Pulled Pork
  • Mac-n-cheese
  • Cornbread
  • Coleslaw
  • Baked beans

HE SAID:  The ribs left a lot to be desired but the brisket and pulled pork more than made the trip in worth it. The coleslaw was the best I've ever had but I thought the ginger in the baked beans was confusing to the palate.

SHE SAID: I challenge anyone to find a better pulled pork. Although there were six sauces available, I didn't find one that I really liked- they were either too tangy or too sweet and lacked a balance. The fritters were a great appetizer!

TAKE OUT: Situated in Corktown, this place is a bit off the beaten path. Once you walk through the front door, however, the building tells a story of times past through the large array of reclaimed wood. Overall, the ambiance is uniquely Detroit. The beer selection is a great conglomeration of microbrews from around the area. Best BBQ in town!
