Northern Lakes Seafood Co.

WHAT WE ORDERED:
  • Off-the-menu trio of appetizers provided by the chefs: shrimp, braised pork belly and grits
  • Certified Angus Filet Mignon, medium, with jumbo lump crab and bĂ©arnaise
  • Grouper, broiled, with homemade salsa
  • Off-the menu dessert: homemade donuts filled with creme brulee

Paired with:
  • ‘08 DRAGANI “Terre di Chieti” Italy Sangiovese/Montepulciano d”Abruzzo
HE SAID: The shrimp appetizer had a perfectly flavored sauce with a kick. I left my virgin experience with grouper in the hands of the chef, having them decide how to prepare it. The salsa was the perfect pairing with the seafood. The scalloped potatoes were amazing and a hit with everyone we dined with.

SHE SAID: Although the filet was wonderful, in retrospect I should have selected a seafood dish since it is, afterall, their speciality. The pork belly literally melted in your mouth and we are all still talking about the homemade donuts!

TAKE OUT: This is the king fish of all seafood places. The setting is intimate and the wait staff is very helpful and informed. Our waitress was able to comment on every dish and recommend pairings.
